PDM (Paper Disc Method) was the company’s first product line introduced as early as 1958. It represents the earliest concept for antibiotic susceptibility testing using a single disc in a well standardised diffusion method. The PDM concept integrates the use of a specially formulated susceptibility test medium, PDM ASM, specifically calibrated PDM Antibiotic Sensitivity Discs and a well defined test procedure to generate underlying PDM interpretive criteria. All components are controlled strictly batch-to-batch to ensure the validity of interpretive standards.

 

Additional products include PDM Nitrocefin Disc for beta-lactamase detection and PDM Standard Discs for antibiotic assays. PDM products were marketed only in Scandinavia. With the exception of PDM Nitrocefin disc, all PDM products were discontinued in December 2003.
